Jetpack Fox

Game Introduction

How To Play

Jetpack Fox! A very difficult game that is similar to Getting Over It by Bennett Foddy! WASD, Arrow Keys, or use Mobile controls! All settings can be changed in the pause menu! Additionally, if an obstacle is TOO hard you can skip it! There is also a timer in there if you wanna see how fast you can beat the game! Credits ----------------------------------------------------------- Everything was made by me! Programming, Sound, Graphics, Animations, and Music! Only thing I didn't make was Scratch, lol Music, (and some sounds) were made using: Beepbox And for sounds I used Audacity! Everything else is Scratch though! This game is heavily inspired off of many projects, but the general idea is very similar to Bennett Foddy's Getting Over it! Developer Notes ----------------------------------------------- There is a Developer Commentary up on my YouTube if you would like more specific details on how this game was made! Additionally, inside this project in "Backgrounds" contains full devlog of when and what I made on a particular day! As of writing this, this project has taken 80 hours Over the span of 5 months! All things considered, I am VERY surprised I made this project this fast, usually I stagnate on projects for years, so for me to do this project in 5 months is like a speeding train for me! Developer Commentary ----------------------------------------- This project has been a long time coming! And I really gotta stop making such big projects, this has got to be one of my biggest projects to date, and it took far too long to make, but it is here! The main thing is the level's graphics, I think those by far took the most time out of this project, which is surprising to me, but something for me to note for future projects. :o I really, really love the main character, though! I used similar animation techniques to my "Sine Animation Tutorial (Motion Graphics)" project! The individual parts of the character are stacked on top of each other, and animated individually in order to give that very fluid effect! I think it works quite spectacularly in this context! Also, I ran a lot of beta tests in order to get this project juuuuuust right! It was hard though, seeing players be frustrated and not getting to the end. I added the skip level feature specifically because of this. A lot of players wanted to just see the world, and that is an option! But for hardcore players, they have the speedrun option, too! Only 1 of my 7 beta testers made it to the end though, which I think makes sense because they were the only gamer among those 7. But who is to say anyone else can't make it to the top of the mountain? I really want to release more projects, though, so I think I'm going to be dialing down the scope of my projects and maybe going back and releasing some veryyyy cool projects I've been sitting on for years! Who knows what the future holds! :o Personal Notes / Updates -------------------------------------- For those wondering how I have been or what I've been up to, because I know people are very confused about my project uploading schedule. @.@ I am still alive, and doing well, but I haven't been able to spend as much time on Scratch as I used to, I can barely even keep up with the comments, let alone my own, personal life, so it's been a bit difficult. But after a while, I was able to get enough time to make some projects, and I think that's gonna be how it will be for the future. I don't think I really can interact with the community anymore, which is sad, but being a college student, working a job, and going to other creative pursuits really takes a lot of time off my hands. @.@ If you are interested in those other creative pursuits, I am on other website (I can't link them here on Scratch, but VinCrafts is my handle here and on other places, sometimes being VinCraftsDigital) and those places I'll be uploading more frequently, since other art forms do NOT take as much time as making video games. Though, there is a lot of users out there named VinCrafts, if they have a similar art style to what I have on Scratch, a similar logo (though granted I have two logos) to this account, then it is probably me! Hopefully that explains everything! I still love Scratch and everything it stands for though, and I hope I can always at least make a project or two over the next years!
