Also Reaper's going to be a comedic slice-of-life esque comic rather than relying on heavy plot because I can't be bothered to come up with anything emotional. Only the first few pages have an overall dark theme. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ 1: Hansen Le'Daunte ref Hansen is the reincarnation of the Grim Reaper. Unlike all other incarnations before him, he takes on a more human-esque form, and has an unusual fondness for mankind as a whole. He wants to liberate them from unjust death, and in doing so hopes that Monsters would receive peace from mankind in return, ending their persecution. He doesn't like to take souls to send them to the afterlife himself; rather, he sends spirits roughly dubbed "paralysis demons" to take souls whilst they sleep, ensuring they have a peaceful death rather than a terrifying one. He onlys intervenes himself whenever a particularly violent human or one that is suffering is present. Hansen is known as mild-mannered yet virtuous, vowing to do whatever it takes to liberate mankind from unjust death. ~~~~~~~~~~ 2: Mitess Fangg ref Mitess is a snarky she-vampire permanently stuck in her bat form due to a spell gone wrong. She tried to make herself invulnerable to sunlight so that she could see what day felt like without the pain, but in doing so screwed up the spell and accidentally made herself a bat. Mitess has been like a sisterly figure to Hansen, as she was the first monster he could remember meeting before his memories went blurry. For centuries they have relied on each other, enaging in playful banter and quick-witted debates. She may not be as inclined to his cause for mankind as he is, but she's willing to stand by his side, no matter what it takes. Maybe they could figure out how to return her to her true form... ~~~~~~~~~~ 3: Lupin Clavoc ref Lupin is an outgoing, vain and condescending werewolf pretending to be a human. He thinks of himself as charming, but in reality he comes on too strong when talking to strangers or pretty women. He designated himself as the village guard and lumberjack, reveling in harsh labor and occasionally trying to get himself a mate. He always manages to screw up every time, either by being too hands-on or just by falling into a ditch. The latter tends to happen quite often. Recently he got himself a new apprentice, the unusually pointed-eared Moth. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ 4: Moth Samson ref His actual name used to be Timothy, but it ended up becoming Moth because nobody liked him. Moth is a teenage elf who thinks he's a human due to being raised and living among them his entire life. He doesn't believe in supernatural monsters and tends to be quite timid. He became Lupin's apprentice at the request of the village mayor because he thought that he needed to become more confident and stronger, and he thought that aside from the occasional flirting incidents Lupin was a good role model. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ 5: Victory Firebrand ref (I revamped Victory's character to be just a regular human instead of a fire fae for plot reasons. Plus I need more actual human characters so rip) Victory is a human with anger issues who became a Monster Hunter after her family was killed by a pack of werewolves. Ever since then she's vowed to kill all monsters and restore peace to humankind. Many claim she's unfit to take on the race of monsters by herself, but she's determined to prove them all wrong... and maybe even live up to her own expectations. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ 6: Wendy Indigo ref Wendy is an outgoing, friendly and somewhat disconnected wendigo. She tried to fit in with her kind but being the bloodthirsty monsters that wendigos are, they eventually shunned her for being too sociable. Seeking refuge and possibly a friend, she went to the manor of Hansen and offered to be his newest recruit: To become a paralysis demon. She had been born with the unusual ability to walk in dreams and thought that taking souls while they slept was the best way to put it to use apparently. She was a not-so-secret fangirl of the Grim Reaper for most of her life because she loved how he did things differently than past Grim Reaper incarnations, what with using demons to take souls rather than taking them himself. She thought it was innovative. Also she just thought he was hot but we don't talk about that bit.
