Nostalgia :,0 I made this for myself guys who doesn't love a slightly cheesy post >:] ~ So… this might not load :,D spam the flag >:00 This is my art improvement ranging from 2017-2025 (the first few drawings were posted on my first account… 8 years ago :0) ~ Everyone has to start somewhere <3 It’s a long journey, but it’s a beautiful one, and it won’t end. ~ I still have so many areas to improve in. But here are a couple tips I learnt that helped me <3 - It’s worth investing in an actual art program. Scratch has very limited features for making art. I recommend Firealpaca for PC, it’s free <3 (Procreate is a great one too, but it's only available on Ipads, and costs money) - I stopped using the airbrush when it came to shading/lighting. It would end up making my drawings look messy/muddied. I prefer to shade in shapes now, sometimes rounding out the harsh lines with a blur/bleeding brush <3 - THIS IS SOMETHING I WISH I KNEW ABOUT EARLIER!! You can flip the canvas :0 in doing so, you get to look at your drawing/sketch/lineart with new eyes. Sometimes the anatomy/drawing is off, but we don’t realise because we’ve been staring at it for so long. I recommend flipping your canvas every now and then, and potentially using the transform mesh tool to adjust things <3 - When it came to lighting, my default go to was to add a gradient layer on top of everything, and lower the opacity. Like the airbrush tool, I found that this made my art look muddy. Now, I continue to add gradients, but set the layer to either ‘multiply’, ‘add’ or ‘overlay’ instead of leaving it set as ‘normal’. (there’s a bunch more options) ~ All these drawings are from scratch projects I’ve shared <33 The majority of characters aren’t mine A lot of this is fan art + some are DTs I’ve done with people <3 there's also the occasional dta entry Original projects credit the oc/design owners. I know a lot of them have moved on from Scratch ToT I’m so sorry I didn’t have enough patience to credit everyone here.
