Allele Simulator: Dominant & Recessive traits
Game Introduction
A little simulator I made to visualise some stuff I've been learning about in bio at school. Was totally mind-blown that having five fingers is actually typically a recessive trait in humans! (A more polished & complex simulator to do with evolution is in the works as well. That one will be shared on my main account sometime before June ^u^)
How To Play
> SHIFT + click the green flag for turbo mode - it works smoother > The 0 is the recessive allele, and the cat is blue when it is expressed. > 1 is dominant, and the cat is orange when it is expressed. > The 01 or 10 kitties have blue nose to show they are carriers of the recessive allele, but they still express the dominant allele. > Try creating a population of mainly 00s with only a few 11s/01s - and see how a dominant trait will not necessarily become the most common. :) > You can also drag the cats around if you feel like it. > If you hold SPACE down it breaks.
