How To Play
Space/Click/Arrow Keys to change slides (First slide is my painting, second is the reference, third is a photo of my materials) Hi! Sorry this is so late but I had a lot going on with skool starting and stuff. Anyways I did something a little different this time, I did a watercolor painting instead of a pencil drawing! I wanted to work on a medium with more restrictions and less ways to go back than things like pencil or digital that have an eraser, or even acrylic paints that are opaque enough to go over the same thing multiple times in many ways. Watercolors are harder for me because I'm kind of a perfectionist so I always like having a way to go back and undo what I've done which is why I thought this was a good exercise for me (ok I kind of cheated a bit by using white water color as an eraser but it doesn't really cover up things that well so it was still a challenge ok lol). I also happened to have the materials (that you can see on the last slide) because of an art class I had done over the summer! Anywayyyys after all this ramble, my critique of the piece is that I do like how I did the ballet shoes however I wish I had done the background differently, I don't know how I would have changed it but it doesn't seem to fit with the rest of the piece quite right. Another thing I would have done differently I think would be instead of using India Ink for the bar, I would have mixed my dark blue and brown to make a calmer, earthier grey that wouldn't look so out of place with the shoes. Soooo do you think I should do more watercolor for my monthly drawings in the future or stick with pencil? And what do you think about this painting?
