Game Introduction

Credits: Most of the graphics ripped from JetPac, Lunar Jetman, Exolon, Starquake and Cybernoid on the ZX Spectrum. All have been heavily modified or completely redrawn with more colours, upscaled etc. The rocket is entirely drawn by me. Title screen created by Mark Leither. Drawing the font took an absolute age! I don't recommend drawing fonts, it's a thankless task! Sounds mostly sampled from the spectrum games JetPac and Lunar Jetman by Ultimate Play the Game/ Some sounds created by me. How To Play

The idea of the game is to fuel up your rocket, collect gems for bonus' and the fly off to the next planet. You automatically pick up objects when you stand near them. You can manually drop an object by pressing the drop key (if you want more speed to manoeuvre away from enemies). Objects need to be deposited in the rocket and will automatically drop when you're above it. If no fuel drops, grab another object and drop that in your rocket. The circle in the middle at the top is your shield (if you pick up homing missiles or the cybermace you'll see additional circles counting down). Top left is a scanner that shows where objects or fuel are, fuel shows up in magenta all other objects are yellow. Your score is top right, and under that is your laser temperature, when that gets too high the gun cuts out so you need to use it in bursts rather than just holding it down all the time. There's a few pick ups to get, shields for an extra shield, homing missiles (for a limited time) and a cyber mace which is basically a shield (for a limited time). Default Controls (there are other options): Arrow Up to thrust Arrow Left / Right to move left / right Arrow Down - Drop object Z - Shoot If you're feeling a bit retro you can press 1 to toggle a CRT effect on and off. Known Bugs: * The whole thing just hangs sometimes when you die! (fixed I think) * When you collect objects it sometimes gets confused (fixed) * Player hitbox exists when you're in the rocket (fixed) * Fuel is sometimes invisible! (fixed!) Things to maybe add... + Add bonus missions for levels (e.g. collect 5 diamonds) + Repair rocket before fuelling up by picking up rocket parts Plays and looks best in Turbowarp 60fps with hqPen. https://turbowarp.org/759670752/fullscreen?fps=60&hqpen On the main menu pressing keys 1-9 will set what level you start on, so if you want to experience all the enemy types start on level 6.
