clear pfp tutorial | Illusion Kitty
Game Introduction
How To Play
hi! welcome to my first ever tutorial: how to get a crispy clear pfp :] all instructions are in the project. arrow keys/space/tap to proceed through the slides. if you follow all the instructions as it is in the project, you should be able to get a clear pfp like mine in the end - - - - links mentioned in the project: 1) ezgif.com/resize (resizes the image) 2) ezgif.com/webp-maker (converts your file to a .webp file. NOTE: if your original image is already a .webp file, you only have to resize your image and upload it to scratch) - - - - READ THE DESCRIPTION IF YOU WANT TO KNOW: - things you can try if the tutorial didn’t work (troubleshooting) - how to make clear studio thumbnails - how to make clear gif pfps - - - - TROUBLESHOOTING : - when you upload your webp to scratch, if it tells you that the file size is too big, resize your image again. I would suggest resizing it to 499x499 at first and then try uploading the webp to scratch again. If it still doesn’t work, try 490x490. If it still doesn’t work, resize it smaller. if it still doesn’t work, uhh read the next step - when you upload your webp to scratch, it will probably tell you that your file is not the right type, or that its corrupted. if it says that, just keep uploading the webp over and over (it takes over 20 tries before it works sometimes). in most cases, this should eventually work. but sometimes, it just doesn’t work, and idk why :’) best I can say is double-check that you followed all the steps correctly, and if you did, just try again with a different image. this has only happened to me once, and every other time I’ve tried making my clear pfp, it has worked - if you’re having any other problems, I fear I probably have no fix sorry :') - - - - CLEAR STUDIO THUMBNAILS : follow the same steps given in the project, but instead of resizing the image to 500x500, resize it to 400x260. and upload your webp file as your studio thumbnail - - - - CLEAR GIF PFPS : I've been asked how to do this a couple of times, so I tried figuring it out. it pretty much the same steps as making a normal clear pfp, but its a bit more annoying depending on the gif you choose I tried making this explanation clear as I could while also keeping it short. it might be a little vague in some areas though, so if you have any questions or run into any problems, ask and I'll try my best to help you! go to google, find a gif (the shorter it is, the better. try finding a .gif file. if its any other file type, try converting it to a .gif file using ezgif. I think you can't convert some file types to .gif files though, so that's why its better to just find a .gif file), resize to 500x500 pixels (follow the tutorial for this step plus the next 2 steps), convert the gif file to a webp file, upload the webp to scratch. if scratch says that your image is corrupted, keep uploading it over and over and cross your fingers that it works. it worked on like the 25th try for me. if scratch says that the file size it too big, go to file explorer and find the webp you downloaded (its in downlaods probably). right click it, click file properties, and check the size. the max pfp size for scratch is 512KB. if your file size is over 512KB (1 MB = 1000 KB btw), you could try a couple of things: 1) find a shorter gif and start over 2) resize your webp to a smaller size (like 400x400 pixels or 300x300 pixels), save, check the file size to see if its under the size limit now. if its not, you can try resizing it to an even smaller size. I'd only recommend this option if your file size is just a little over the size limit. because if you make your webp dimensions too small, then your pfp will be lower quality even if you get it under the size limit and upload it to scratch 3) shorten your gif by uploading your webp to ezgif's webp maker again, click "skip" on the frames you want to get rid of, save, check file size again. you might have to keep shortening your webp to get it under the file size limit. you can try combining this option with the second option (resizing your webp to a smaller size) for those who want to see the difference between a clear and not clear gif pfp: on this acc @battery-of-gwdfi, I downloaded a gif from google and uploaded it as my pfp without making it clear. on this acc @nonnonoo, I made the same gif clear and uploaded it as my pfp. don't mind the acc usernames- I made those an year and a half back - - - - tags: - - - text animation by @luviinqq everything else by @IllusionKitty [me]
